About Us

Voces Cantabiles Music is a foundation that brings a fresh approach to choral music. The two flagship ensembles, Voces8 and Voces Cantabiles, perform repertoire that celebrates the wonderful English Choral tradition and also looks to the future with innovative programming and support of fine contemporary composers. The ensembles have performed at venues including the Royal Festival Hall, the Wigmore Hall, St John's, Smith Square, Alexandra Palace, Fairfield Halls and the Barbican. Outside the UK, the groups perform in concert across the world. Voces8 is preparing for a remarkable 2009, performing over 100 concerts in 11 different countries and making television and radio appearances in the USA, Spain, Germany Italy and Kenya. The ensembles have also now been heard on Classic FM, Radio 3, Radio 2 and Heart FM. Voces8 has appeared on BBC1, BBC2 and BBC4. Started in 2003, the foundation aims to provide young singers with a platform on which they may engage in choral music at the highest level, whether it be in our internationally acclaimed chamber choir, or the award winning a capella octet, Voces8. The foundation offers scholarships for young singers looking to join the Voces Cantabiles Youth Choir and places great emphasis on a vibrant education programme that encourages students of all ages and abilities to develop creative skills. Hatch My Ideas!, the education programme launched by VCM in 2007, is now delivering bespoke creative programmes in over 200 schools and communities across the UK. The organisation works with students, young leaders and teachers, and is grateful for the support of Sing Up, Youth Music, the Arts Council, the Worshipful Company of Musicians, the Tower Hill Trust, the Bedford School Trust, the Purcell Club, the Children's Society, the Worshipful Company of Mercers, Whitgift School, the Concordia Foundation and various music services.
